Anarchy Horsie

Our DOPE 7 subvertising spread is a collaboration between Marco Bevilacqua and OT Pascoe. It takes a quote from Erich Muhsam as its inspiration.

ANARCHY NOW!

“I don’t regard myself as an artist. I am a craftsman. Fuck art.”

Honoured to have our DOPE 7 covers and centre-spread designed by worker and militant anarchist, Clifford Harper.

Heartwood

Our DOPE 6 subvertising spread is Nick Hayes‘ illustration of a poem by Robert MacFarlane, installed in bus stops around Sheffield. Nick created the work in support of the campaign group Sheffield Tree Action Group (STAG), because:

5,500 of Sheffield’s street trees have been chopped down in the last five years – another 12,000 will go over the next 20 years.

Atelier Unpopulaire

The photos were taken by Thomas Dekeyser (London) and Luna Park (New York).

Fuck Work

DOPE 5 covers and centre spread are by Josh MacPhee. They’re part of series he did for the recent Mai 68 anniversary, a modern take on the Atelier Populaire posters produced by students and workers in the Paris uprising of 1968.

Josh also wrote a brilliant article for this issue entitled Radical Posture, and his posters were placed in advertising spaces in London and New York, which featured in our subvertising spread.
